Yeku is an 8-year-old second-grade student who excels academically and dreams of becoming a teacher. He lives with his peasant farmer parents, who are constantly challenged by limited income. This financial challenge makes it hard for them to cover both the basic necessities of the family and the school fees for their children. As a result Yeku sometimes misses school when fees go unpaid, he loves drawing and playing soccer while with his friends.
