Joyce is 9 years old and she is in grade two, Joyce lost both of her parents to HIV/AIDS when she was still an infant and she too was infected, Joyce is under the care of her uncle with other 5 siblings. Her uncle is a peasant farmer and that's his main source of income, the earnings he get do not allow him to give Joyce proper diet and some times she fails to get her medication (ARVs) due to lack of transport to the would be nearest health center which greatly affects her health. Joyce loves going to school but her uncle can not afford the school fees and the basic needs she therefore keeps on missing classes. Joyce loves playing dodge ball and she would like to be a nurse in future.
