Arafat, a 9-year-old second grade pupil, lives with his hardworking peasant farmer parents who strive to meet the family’s basic needs and support the education of their children. Unfortunately, due to low crop yields caused by adverse weather and pests the family’s resources are often stretched thin, making it difficult to pay his school fees. This financial barrier results in Arafat frequently being sent home from school, interrupting his learning. On the bright side, his health remains robust, although his home is modest and lacks proper shelter.
