Shina is a 6-year-old who lives in rural Uganda with her grandmother after her parents separated when she was just 3 years old. Her grandmother, a peasant farmer with very limited resources from farming, constantly battles overwhelming bills and meager earnings. Shina is frequently sick, which adds to the financial strain as her grandmother struggles to cover hospital expenses alongside school fees. Despite these hardships, Shina excels academically and aspires to become a teacher one day so that she can support both her family and her community.
