Micah lived with his paternal grandmother who had another granddaughter under her care. The grandmother is a subsistence farmer. She can`t produce much from her garden given her age and she has a sight problem. He lost his mother at an early stage of life when he needed her most and was left to the grandmother to look after him. His father has less time to spend at home and shortly after the mother`s death, the father remarried and his responsibilities increased leaving Micah in the hands of his grandmother with occasional support from him as the family grew.
Micah would clean the compound, collect water and wash plates while at home.
He is in Primary four and his performance is average.
He is happy at Berakhah childcare, because he can access basic needs like food and during his free time, he plays football with his friends.
