Daphne lives with both her parents, who work as peasant farmers and earn very little. Despite their tireless efforts, they face constant financial struggles that make it hard to provide for the family. Daphne suffers from sickle cell disease, a condition that requires regular medical attention, but her parents’ limited income makes it difficult to afford the treatments she needs. Even with these challenges, Daphne is determined to excel academically and dreams of one day becoming a medical doctor.
