Topiisther is a 9-year-old third grader living with both of her parents. Her mother and father are peasant farmers, and although her father also works as a primary teacher to supplement the family income, they still struggle financially to meet the basic needs of their large family of seven. Due to these limited resources, Topiisther often suffers from malaria and cannot receive proper medication. Despite the financial hardships and occasional disruptions such as being sent home from school because of unpaid fees, Topiisther excels academically and remains determined to pursue her dreams.
