Gift is a 6-year-old first-grade student with a strong academic record and dreams of becoming a doctor. After losing her mother at around two years old, she has been cared for by her maternal grandmother—a peasant farmer with limited resources. With no support from her absentee father, and now facing her grandmother’s deteriorating health and financial hardship, Gift struggles to access quality healthcare and education. Nonetheless, she remains academically focused despite the uncertainties surrounding her future.
