Joseph, a sixteen-year-old boy, lives with his peasant mother and stepfather following his mother's separation from his biological father and remarriage. Though supported by both his parents, the family faces significant financial challenges due to limited income from peasantry farming. These constraints make it difficult to provide for the family's basic needs and ensure quality education for their school-going children, often leading to unpaid school fees and Joseph being sent home. Despite these hardships, Joseph dreams of becoming a medical doctor one day to support his family and contribute to his community.
