Gift, a twelve-year-old girl in fifth grade, lives with her peasant farmer parents who struggle to provide for their family. Limited resources from farming, compounded by poor weather conditions, make it challenging for them to meet both basic needs and offer quality education to their school-going children. For Gift, these financial hardships have also led to a lack of proper medical care as she suffers from persistent headaches and nosebleeds. Her parents are deeply worried about her health, uncertain about her well-being in the future.
