Ben, a five-year-old boy in middle class kindergarten, has been living with his paternal grandmother since he was one year old. His grandmother, a peasant farmer with limited resources, faces significant challenges in providing for Ben and other family members under her care. Although Ben's health is generally good, he occasionally experiences severe headaches when sick. Despite the financial struggles within his family, Ben is determined to become a teacher to support both his family and his community.
