Methuselah, an 11-year-old fourth-grade pupil, has experienced tragedy after being separated from her parents and placed with her father's guardians a kind but financially limited peasant family dependent on unreliable farming yields. These challenges have hindered her access to proper medication for her ongoing battle with yellow fever, as funds are scarce for both school fees and healthcare. Nonetheless, she is determined to become a medical doctor to support her family and her community.
