Charles lived with his maternal grandmother and two of his siblings. The mother moved away to live with her sister because she couldn`t cope living with her mother and children in the same house. They moved to this home after the death of Charles` father and left him at the age of five years. The maternal grandmother who is elderly survives on subsistence farming and they hardly access all the basic needs like: food, health and education sufficiently throughout the year consistently. Charles is the fourth born in the family of six children, three girls and three boys but they have been separated due to the inability by the mother to raise them up. While at home, Charles would dig, collect water, wash plates and sweep the compound. During his free time, he plays football with the friends. Charles is in Primary four where he dreams of becoming a pilot and his performance is average.
