Charles, a 2-year-old boy, lives with his peasant farmer parents, who struggle financially to support their family. Though Charles is not yet in school, his parents face difficulties affording proper medication for an eye condition he has had since birth. Additionally, he suffers from severe malaria that often leads to fainting episodes, for which a diagnosis remains out of reach due to their limited income.
