Luke, a 7-year-old boy in grade one, lives under the care of his maternal grandmother, who took on the responsibility of raising him after his parents separated when he was just one year old. Since the separation, Luke's father has not been involved in his life or provided any support, placing the full burden of his upbringing on his grandmother. As a peasant farmer, she works tirelessly to provide for Luke and other children in the household, despite the limited resources. This financial strain has hindered Luke's access to proper medication for a painful eye problem, which disrupts his academic performance and daily activities. Despite these challenges, Luke continues to persevere under the care of his devoted grandmother.
