Emma, a determined 15-year-old in grade seven, lost his father at the age of six, leading his mother to remarry and move him into her new marriage, where he now lives with his stepfather, mother, and siblings from her new union. His mother, a peasant farmer, works tirelessly, including offering casual labor on other farms, to earn money to pay for his school fees. Despite her efforts, Emma struggles with severe headaches and a heart condition that urgently require medical attention, which the family cannot afford due to limited resources. Nevertheless, Emma remains focused on his education and determined to overcome these challenges and become an engineer one day.
