Patricia is a 6-year-old top-performing kindergarten student in Uganda who lives in a polygamous family of seven with her two peasant farmer parents. Due to the family's reliance on agriculture whose yields are unstable because of weather conditions they face significant financial challenges in meeting basic needs and paying school fees. Despite her academic excellence, passion for singing and dancing, and her willingness to help with household chores after school, Patricia is often sent home because of unpaid dues. Fortunately, she enjoys good health with no underlying medical issues.
